United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin Advocacy staff provides personal, public and legislative advocacy
by and on behalf of persons with disabilities. Our Advocacy specialists provide
assistance with self-advocacy skills in such areas as understanding services,
addressing service problems, public information and awareness, voting, and
political action. Public and legislative advocacy efforts include individual
education of elected and appointed officials, participation in public hearings
affecting rights or services for people with disabilities, public awareness
and education activities, and facilitating communications between individuals
and families affected by disabilities and their elected officials.
