Employment Services

United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin’s Employment Services assists adults of diverse abilities to live more independently by helping them secure and retain competitive employment in the community.

UCP’s Employment Services staff works with businesses in the community to develop customized jobs to meet the needs of both employer and employee and constantly adapts its services to support them.

Job Development – UCP-SEW identifies and matches an employer’s needs with a prospective employee’s interests, skills, and abilities with a goal of job placement.

Job Skill Analysis/Job Readiness Preparation –  UCP-SEW staff teach applicants job search techniques, including resume preparation, interviewing skills and basic work place competencies.

Career Exploration – UCP-SEW staff help prospective employees to arrange workplace site tours and job shadow experiences to help facilitate their search for the job that fits their needs and abilities.

Benefits Analysis – UCP-SEW’s certified benefits counselors provide job seekers with an individualized assessment of the potential financial impact of employment on their benefits’ status.
Job Placement – UCP-SEW staff faciliate all aspects of the new hire process to ensure a smooth transition for the new employee and his/her employer.   

On-Site Job Facilitation/Coaching UCP-SEW staff assist the new employee and his/her employer with orientation and training, identifying any job accommodations that may be necessary and assists with the development of supports at the work site.   

Employer Supports UCP-SEW assists prospective employers with pre-screening, workplace preparation, adaptive technology assistance, ADA information, job matching and job facilitation and education at no cost to the employer.

Outreach – UCP-SEW is a resource for the community on issues that affect the lives of persons with disabilities and shows employers the benefits of including people with diverse abilities in their workplace.
